The Alumni Chair position was originally created in order to help with the growing RYLA Alumni population in our district. The position focused solely on fostering community amongst alumni through chaperone retention, and programming. Now the Alumni committee's scope has expanded exponentially. The newly imagined role includes chaperone recruitment/programming, alumni communications, application administration/review, and formal mentorship. The more advanced alumni role has allowed for alumni in our program to increase their leadership potential by allowing more room for involvement after their time as participants. Alumni have the opportunity to be involved in workshops, and application review throughout the year. Alumni in our program are crucial for their contributions as chaperones, and leaders to our high school students!
