What is  the Youth Committee?

After completing the Facilitator year, Facilitators who are entering their Senior year of high school are eligible to apply for a position on the District RYLA Committee. Successful applicants will work together with other members of their "Youth Committee" and alongside the "Adult Committee" (of Rotarians and Alumni) to comprise the Rotary District 7255 RYLA Committee. The Youth Committee steers the District RYLA program throughout the Rotary year in which they serve. The Youth Committee experience culminates at the Spring RYLA conference, which is entirely run by the Youth Committee and serves as the gateway introduction for the next generation of RYLA leaders. The Youth Committee will focus on three specific domains of service: programming, fundraising, and engagement. The "YC" is a committed group of young leaders that further the mission of RYLA and uphold the values of the RYLA program.

What will a year on Youth Committee look like?

The Senior year experience in RYLA is most often the most memorable and meaningful. Overall, being on the Youth Committee is what you make it! Your engagement will drive the experience throughout the year. Members of The Youth Committee should expect at least one in-person and one online RYLA Committee commitment each month in addition to their privately scheduled youth committee meetings. Here are some important dates to keep in mind...
